TIME TO LET GO
The Serenity Prayer
God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Where do I start? I’m at a turning point in my life that many of us have to deal with. When do we say, “No more!” It doesn’t matter if it’s business, a relationship, or even our family dynamic. Everyone has their breaking point. I’m at mine. Here are some points that have drawn me to the conclusion it’s TIME TO LET GO.
1.When you don’t remember why you loved this person it’s TIME TO LET GO.
2.When you realize you don’t even like this person anymore and you can’t manage to love them more than you don’t like them; TIME TO LET GO.
3.When the bad outweighs the good; TIME TO LET GO.
4.When you’ve lost all respect for the person; TIME TO LET GO.
5.If your love or friendship has become conditional it’s TIME TO LET GO.
6.You’re wondering what you ever saw in this person it’s TIME TO LET GO.
7.If you’ve prayed and prayed about it and it seems like you haven’t gotten an answer it’s TIME TO LET GO.
8.If you continue to give them the best of yourself and you feel it’s not reciprocated; TIME TO LET GO.
9.When they seem to feel you owe them and have done nothing to contribute; TIME TO LET GO.
10.Last but not least, if you’re going to give it to GOD you have to truly surrender. GOD can save anybody who wants to be saved.
Living with addiction is something I wouldn’t wish on anybody because while they’re going through hell they are determined to take you along for the ride. As much as they say no one cares, or how much they want to be alone we continue to beg and plead for them to change, to get help. We’ve given them a captive audience.
“When someone shows you who they are; believe them.” ~ Maya Angelou
This is going to sound cold, but I no longer pity them. And I no longer accept the alcohol as the reason for mistreating me or my family. My daughter said something that will forever stay with me, “Drunken minds speak sober thoughts.”
This post is for the Mother that has sacrificed EVERYTHING for that addicted child to the detriment of her family and other children. This is dedicated to my girl who showed this man love like he’s never known and he stomped on it. This is to that imbecile that wants to do business with you because they wouldn’t know an original idea if it bit them in the ass. This is for that hater who keeps you motivated and wonders why you keep them at a distance.
Most of all this is for all my friends and family that don’t understand that GOD has something better for you. Your situation is not your destination! Even those of you who think you’ve arrived; GOD has better jobs, better opportunities, better relationships, even bigger blessings for you if you would just let go. You can’t receive what GOD has holding on to what use to be.
