SIGNS OF FLIRTING
There's something modest and old-fashioned about flirting. It can be very innocent and it's a great way to get someone's attention and still be subtle. I found this article on www.greatdateguide.com and thought it was worth sharing. Some of you need to learn how to flirt without being disrespectful or too aggressive, or just plain nasty. lol ~Venus
Learn to recognize the signs of flirting.
Whether you're dating right now or just shopping around for a fun time or relationships, you should learn to recognize the signs of flirting. This goes for both girls and boys; when you can recognize the signs of flirting, you know the right things to do and not do as well.
The most obvious sign of flirting for girls is the eye glance. Here's how it goes: she's looking at you when you see her, but she quickly glances away. While you're still watching her, she looks up again to see if you're still watching. When you see this, you can be almost certain that it's time to move in.
But there are several other signs of flirting on the female side. A girl who's flirting with you will laugh more loudly and smile more pointedly. Her eyes stay focused on you most of the time. Her body language tends to include a lot of touching: of your hand, her own glass, and whatever part of you seems to be within reach - usually your knee.
A flirting girl will also be focused on you more than herself. Look for her to primp subtly - patting her hair, for instance. She is also likely to unconsciously fondle things, like the rim of her glass, or to lick her lips frequently.
Is He Flirting?
For a guy, the signs of flirting are subtly different. Like girls, guys tend to get much louder during flirting, whether they're laughing or just talking to you. (Guys, if you're reading this to figure out how to act, don't get too loud; it's obnoxious and will drive girls away.)
But among the major signs of flirting for guys is aggression. Especially among younger guys, you will see - for lack of a better term - posturing. Men will keep their arms protectively around the women who interest them, even if they don't touch her. They will tend to stand taller and stare down other men who dare to glance her way.
These signs are for the benefit of other guys, though, not the girl. Typically, the signs of flirting the girl is meant to see include:
Standing close and in a way that sort of embraces her body; and
Smiling at almost anything she says, provided he knows it's supposed to be funny.
Men have different standards from women. Women generally choose one guy out of a room to focus on. Guys, on the other hand, exclude a few women in the room that just don't grab their attention. For this reason, if you're wondering if you see signs of flirting on the part of a guy, you almost always are!
